Arrangements for collecting A-level results – Thursday 13 August

Dear Year 13/14 students, parents and carers

I hope that you and your families are well and enjoying the fine weather. I am writing to confirm the arrangements for collecting A-level and other qualifications results when they are published on Thursday 13 August.

Whitby Sixth Form site will be open from 8.00am for students to collect their results in person. We will be operating a one-way system through the building and would ask you to enter via the ‘middle entrance’ between Rooms 4 and 5. From there you will be directed to one of the rooms in which WSF staff will be handing out individual results. We will then ask you to make your way towards the main entrance as that we can confirm with you what your plans for next year are. Ms Wright, Mrs Mastrolonardo and Ms Mackle will be on hand throughout the morning to offer support with university, apprenticeship and job applications.

Because of the on-going social distancing restrictions in place, parents and other family members are welcome to attend the site but we will be limiting the number of friends or relatives entering the building to being one per student. I am sure you will understand our reasons for having to do this. We would appreciate your support in following basic health and hygiene guidelines when collecting your results; namely, not to attend if you are feeling poorly; to sanitise your hands upon entry to the building and maintain appropriate social distancing once inside.

Please note that we can only distribute results to students themselves. If, for whatever reasons, another family member is collecting results on a student’s behalf, we can only do this with the express permission of the individual student. If you would like someone else to collect your results or would like them emailed to you, please contact us at post@sixthformwhitby.org using your college email account, entitling your message “A-level Results Day” and then your name.

One final request. If you have any outstanding library or textbooks, could you please bring them into college with you on Thursday or as soon as possible thereafter if you are not attending this week.

With very best wishes

Simon Riley
Principal
