Parents’ Newsletter #6 - 4 January 2021

Thank you to all those parents/carers who responded to our online questionnaire about our start of term arrangements.

You can still access it by following this link: https://forms.gle/81DQjmSL1mVz5Eqw7 particularly if you would like to request the loan of a device to facilitate online learning or, because you are a ‘critical worker’ or the parent of a vulnerable student, you would like to request your child(ren) access our on-site provision.

In my most recent communication, I gave some details of how we would be organising remote online learning at the start of term. Further details for Years 7-11 are attached to this letter. All students have received an email this evening with these details.

‘Live’ streamed lessons begin tomorrow (Tuesday) for Year 11; on Wednesday for Years 9 and 10; and on Thursday for Years 7 and 8. To begin with, students will usually have 3 of these lessons each day, with additional work from other subjects being regularly set on Google Classroom to supplement these. Starting from tomorrow (Tuesday) we are inviting students in all years to attend a daily ‘Tutor Period’ with their form teacher at 8.55am. Apologies for the short notice for Tuesday morning. Please be aware that we will be registering attendance at these online lessons and tutor periods and will contact parents to ask about the welfare of any absent students.
