My World - a poem by Katie Brewster, Year 7

My World

You are my world, from grass to stars,
You swoop from Venus, to Mars,
You light my world up, with the sun,
My adventure has only just begun!

We’re destroying our oceans, just for fame,
We’re killing our planet, it’s such a shame,
Earth is dying, for our sake,
If we continue like this, it might break!

We have many problems, over here,
Thankfully, starvation and de-forestation are not near,
In England, we pollute the air,
Our country is, just not fair!

Whitby is famous for fish and chips,
The folk sail in and out, on giant ships,
We’re destroying our oceans, just for fame,
We’re killing our planet, it’s such a shame!

My world is surrounded by falling trees,
We’re murdering the bears and killing the bees,
I wish I could do, something to help,
But I have to stand here, and I can welp!

The world is, a brutal place,
We realise it now, and we’re on its case,
The world is big, and I am small,
But I hope I can, stand up for all!
