A Parent's Guide to Google Classroom

Parents and carers are invited to engage with their children’s learning by getting involved through Google Classroom. This seminar will show how to get set up and enable parents to join.

Parents can then follow how their child is progressing through monitoring their classwork, assignments and noting deadlines or submission dates. They can also sign up for Guardian Summaries and receive regular updates about their children’s progress such as missing work, upcoming work and assignment summaries.

In this webinar we will look in more detail at:

  • Stream – the chat area where teachers can post announcements and reminders. If appropriate, students can engage in conversations about projects
  • Classwork – where learning content and lessons are uploaded
  • Assignments – where information can be found about directions and guidelines for each assignment
